ABOUT JAN

 Jan currently works as a Lecturer in Psychology and has recently launched a new private practice with Health Psychology Online

​

Jan is a HCPC  registered Practitioner Psychologist and BPS Chartered Health Psychologist. Jan has an avid interest in psychology, with particular interests in health psychology, research and mental health. Her qualifications include: PhD in Community Care (2013, University of Kent); MSc in Research Methods in Psychology (2006; University College London); and an MSc in Health Psychology (2005; University of Westminster). Jan most recently completed her health psychology practitioner training with the National Health Service (NHS) Education for Scotland (NES) Stage 2 Health Psychology training programme with placement support from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGG&C). Jan intends to work towards additional qualifications in Higher Education in order to support her Lecturer in Psychology position.

Jan has accumulated over 15 years postgraduate psychology experiences across the United Kingdom (UK). Previous experiences included the application of psychological practices within the NHS, UK universities, along with the third and private sector. As an evidence based practitioner, Jan continues to publish and contribute to psychological understandings through psychological related outputs.

Jan is a member of several professional bodies, including regularly supporting the BPS Division of Health Psychology Scotland Committee and as a BPS Board Member for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
